Lucy Hale and former Bachelor Colton Underwood have reportedly been hanging out together in California—but it's unclear right now if they're anything more than just friends.
TMZ has photos of the two on a hike in the Pacific Palisades, and their sources say Hale and Underwood have been going on "casual hike dates" over the last few weeks.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hale said she's single, and we'll take her at her word. "I feel more single than ever, but it's fine," she said. "If anything during this time it's taught [me]—because I've done the whole thing basically alone and I used to hate being alone—I feel the only way I'm gonna date someone next is if they make my life better because I'm so happy right now having my own routine."
"I'm on a dating site now and I still never met up with any of them because I'm too nervous," Hale continued. "Believe it or not, I'm really shy in that sense."
And she says she does have a type, sort of. "I physically do not have a type. I've dated everything across the board," she said. But she is looking for "someone who's confident and comfortable in their skin."
"There's so many insecure men out there, and I can't do that. I've dated that. Don't want that," Hale continued. "Work ethic, drive, passion. I don't care what you do, just love it. Do everything a hundred and ten percent. A good moral compass. Just a good person. It's very simple what I'm looking for, but that's hard. Simple qualities are harder to find. I'm not settling for anything less than what I'm looking for. Because why? Why would I?"
We do know Lucy Hale has been a fan of Colton Underwood's in the past. "I'm super excited that Colton's the Bachelor," she told People in 2018. "He's wholesome. He's a good guy it seems like. He's really beautiful to watch."
Underwood, of course, recently broke up with Cassie Randolph. "Cassie and Colton have a great friendship, but that’s what it was for most of their relationship,” an Us Weekly source said in May. “It was really very hot and heavy. They just made good partners and really great friends. Friends around Colton and Cassie knew this was coming for a while. They were pretty much just roommates toward the end."
