This is SO over the top!!!
Téa Leoni (pictured, above) was doing her thing on the set of Madam Secretary on Friday, preparing to shoot a big scene in which she gives a major speech in front of hundreds of extras, when all hell broke loose behind the scenes! And from what it sounds like, this real-life drama got VERY physical, very quickly!
According to TMZ, cops showed up to the show’s set in Whippany, New Jersey on Friday after a major fight broke out between a craft services employee and a background actor on the show. Apparently, it all went down in front of hundreds of background actors — extras there to be in the audience while Leoni’s character gives a major speech.
Law enforcement sources are reporting that the fight went down when the show went to break, and a horde of extras “swarmed the snacks and coffee table.” At some point, an unidentified actor cut in line, and was told by a female craft services employee to go to the back of the line and wait for everyone else.
The actor allegedly pushed the female employee, at which point her husband — who also works in craft services, per the insiders — came out of nowhere, and “flew in like a bat outta hell and socked the background actor in the face.” Whoa!!!
The actor apparently landed on the table (oh no, the snacks!), and the husband punched him several more times, to boot, leaving his face a bloody mess. Other employees and background actors had to literally pull the guy off the offending actor in question, who was eventually taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries there.
When cops came, they took down statements from everybody involved in the incident, although nobody has yet been arrested for anything and no charges were filed. Still, some could still come down the line, depending on the cops’ investigation.
But seriously… what a crazy fight! Tensions can run high on set, apparently, and when things do boil over, the whole place is a tinder box waiting to explode! No word back yet from the show’s reps on all this, but still… what a crazy story!!
