AceShowbiz -Actor Matthew Broderick‘s sister has tested positive for the coronavirus in Los Angeles.

Revd. Janet Broderick, who is a pastor at All Saints Episcopal Church in Beverly Hills, has been hospitalised after attending a conference in Kentucky.

“As you may know, our Rector, Janet Broderick, took ill shortly after returning from the annual conference of the Consortium of Endowed Episcopal Parishes (CEEP) in Louisville, Kentucky, which was attended by more than 500 Episcopalians from around the country,” a statement to parishioners reads.

After an initial assessment, Revd. Broderick was placed under isolation. Her test results for Covid-19 were confirmed on Wednesday, March 11.

“It has been determined that Janet has tested positive for the virus,” the church statement continues.

All Saints has been closed and all services have been suspended until further notice.

Reports suggest Revd. Broderick is stable. She is being treated for severe pneumonia symptoms.

The news could not come at a worse time for her brother, who is set to open a limited run of Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite with his wife, Sarah Jessica Parker, on Broadway on Friday, March 13.

And hours earlier, Tom Hanks revealed he and his wife, Rita Wilson, had tested positive for Covid-19 in Australia, where he is preparing to shoot a new Elvis Presley biopic with director Baz Luhrmann.

Hanks advised fans via social media that he and his wife had been isolated “upon the advice of medical officials”.
