Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are celebrating their 73rd wedding anniversary this week, and their family members have been joining in to mark the momentous occasion.
A new portrait of the queen and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, was released to commemorate the impressive anniversary. And in the photo, the couple can be seen admiring a special card, which was given to them by their great-grandchildren, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
The official Kensington Palace Instagram account shared a closer look at the brightly colored handmade card. Though the exact message the Cambridge children wrote to their great-grandparents remains a bit of a mystery, it’s certain that George, Charlotte, and Louis put a lot of effort into the design, which features cutout numbers and shapes.

Royal photographer Chris Jackson snapped the sweet portrait of the queen and Philip in the Oak Room in Windsor Castle earlier this week. Following the United Kingdom’s second national lockdown due to a surge in coronavirus cases, the monarch and her husband have been safely residing in Windsor Castle.
BAZAAR.com recently learned that the royal family currently has no firm plans in place for the holiday season just yet, especially as it’s unclear when the United Kingdom will come out of lockdown.
