BBC Breakfast has made several changes to the show as the coronavirus continues to spread across the UK, but the show’s main presenters have remained in their seats, with social distancing measures in place for safety.

Yesterday, Sally Nugent, 48, returned to screens to deliver the latest sports news from a separate studio, including whether Wimbledon will still take place amid the coronavirus outbreak.
She shared a statement on Twitter in view of her 106,000 followers, writing: “Emergency board meeting @Wimbledon to decide what happens now.
“We are talking to @JudyMurray on @BBCBreakfast later for her thoughts.
“Also how to keep kids entertained when outdoor play is limited.”
The show also shared a similar statement to inform viewers about their schedule.
While some debated whether the highly anticipated tennis event should take place, one queried why Sally was still on the show as they don’t believe she’s a key worker.
The Government has advised people to work from home if possible and to only travel to work if completely essential.
The Twitter user wrote: “Sally is NOT essential for goodness sake!! SEND HER HOME.”
Sally hit back, writing: “Thankyou for your comments. We are doing our best to keep our programme as normal as possible on a tiny staff.
“Who knows how long that will last. But for now we will keep going.”
Broadcaster Shelagh Fogarty added: “You’re essential to me, Sal.”
“You too sheels x,” she Sally replied.
Others shared their thoughts about whether Wimbledon should go ahead or not, before it was confirmed the event has been cancelled.
Elsewhere, Sally’s co-star Carol Kirkwood announced her schedule has been changed on the show earlier this week.
In view of her 172,000 Twitter followers, the weather presenter began with her usual start to the day, writing: “Morning! Hope this finds you well xxx.”
She then explained: “I have new times for the foreseeable…. 27 and 57 minutes past the hour.
“You can find your local weather on TV at lunchtime and in the evening or you local BBC radio station through the day.”
“And don’t forget the BBC weather app and BBC Weather website for more details xxx.”
The show also informed viewers of the change on their Twitter page, writing: “A statement from the show’s official Twitter page reads: “Times are changing.
“Weather in #BBCBreakfast has temporarily moved to 27 and 57 past the hour due to the impact of Covid19.”
