Seeking Sister Wife Scandal Worsens; Dimitri Snowden Accused of More Abuse

TLC has yet another controversy on its hands.

In the wake of Josh Duggar getting arrested on two counts of child pornography, and observers therefore screaming at the network to sever all ties with his family, we now have an update on Dimitri Snowden.

The lead on Seeking Sister Wife, Snowden was recently in court.

He appeared before a judge in order to have a restraining order against him lifted, one that had been put on place following some troubling allegations made by Christeline Petersen.

Peterson told authortities that she has lived in fear of her husband for about a year now.

She detailed all the ways he abused and assaulted her physically, most notably going on record about how Dimtri allegedly acted in bed, saying “he choked me during sex, even though I told him not to” and adding:

“The more I struggled the more he enjoyed it.”

Peterson also filed a police report in which she alleged she suffered bruises, scratches, and redness around her neck from attacks by Dimitri Snowden.

Not long after these claims were made, Snowden filed for divorce.

Now, however, we feel compelled too pass along excerpts from an interview Ariadne Joseph recently gave to blogger John Yates.

Joseph says she was previously in a relationship with Dimitri and the mother of his kids, Ashley, and that it also turned ugly and violent.

Ariadne opens the interview by by explaining that she met Ashley and Dimitri Snowden in a polygyny Facebook group about eight years ago.

About a year and a half later, she was invited by Ashley to her and Dimitri’s home — where she was greeted by a naked Ashley at the front door.

Ashley informed Ari that women weren’t allowed to wear clothes inside the house, while Dimitri also walked arund in the buff and Ari had to ask him to at least put boxers on around her four-year old daughter.

Among frightening tidbits from the interview?

  • The adults had to sleep in the same bed.
  • Ari wasn’t permitted to leave the home on her own.
  • Dimitri posed to her on the very day she arrived.
  • Ari accepted, went back to her native New Orleans and sold all her stuff.

Ari added that the Snowdens were not well off and she gave Dimitri and Ashley money on numerous occasions, spending more of her time thhere cooking, cleaning and home schooling.

At one point, Ari discovered text messages from another woman on Dimitri’s phone and confronted him about it, she claims.

He responded by placing his hands arund her neck and shoving her on to a table that had numerous guns on it.

“I just sat on the bed,” Ari recalls of what she did after running away.

“I was numb. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t really know what was happening…

“Even though I saw how badly he talked to Ashley, and how he treated her…I did not expect that at all.”

On another occasion, Ari relayed an incident in which she was woken up by Snowden and assaulted:

There was no way that I could get free because he had the back of my neck.

You know, when you’re in a situation where you’re married, or with someone, and you both have had consensual sex, it’s hard to reconcile in your mind that this person has violated you, has taken something from you without permission …

So I knew that it was wrong, but I didn’t even know how I would go and report that as being, you know, the ‘r’ word.

Ari explained, though, that she felt “triggered” after reading Peterson’s account of her time with Snowden and felt a need to finally speak out.

Eventually, she moved out and back home with her parents.

“These people abused me and traumatized me and my children,” she told Yates, adding of Ashley and the couple in general:

She is an abuser, too. She’s a manipulator. And as I’ve said, they’re never as happy as they are when they’re terrorizing someone. They gang up on you.

Also damning?

She went to TLC with her concerns after Season 1.

She approached executives, she says, and told them all about the Snowdens.

And?!? We’ll let her tell you…

TLC. Those a**holes…Chrissy and her children didn’t have to go through that, they didn’t have to experience that.

Tayler, Vanessa — they did not have to experience this.

Had TLC took those people off the air and allowed them to be exposed the way they should have been, because when I came out and I released all that information — and I had text messages and pictures — they scrubbed the internet of it.

Some of the groups, the TLC groups, took all of the information out. So, they did nothing. T

hey allowed this piece of s**t to be on this damn show, and they continue to abuse, and misuse, and traumatize women.
