‘Surviving R. Kelly’ Wins Best Documentary At MTV Movie & TV Awards

Surviving R. Kelly was named the best documentary at this year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards.

R. Kelly was accused by multiple women of abuse, predatory behavior and pedophilia in the documentary series that was broadcast from January 3 to 5 on Lifetime.

Millions of people have seen the documentary, which also won the 2019 LA Press Club President’s Award for Impact on Media.

The weirdest guy in R&B and hip hop is mired in a legal battle after several women raised sexual abuse allegations against him.

After spending a few days behind bars, Kelly was released on bail from a Chicago jail in February as he pleaded not guilty to sexual abuse charges and posting a $100,000 bail.

Forbidden from making contact with females any younger than 18, the singer is awaiting trial on several sexual abuse charges, some of which have been ongoing for more than a decade.
