T.I.'s Daughter Deyjah Harris Says He Always 'Plays the Victim'

Rapper T.I. and his 19-year-old daughter, Deyjah Harris have always been close. We watched their interactions on their family reality series,  T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle. As Harris got older, she also began using her own social media platforms to speak out against men being inappropriate with young girls and her struggles with her mental health.

Unfortunately, the father/daughter relationship was dealt a major blow in late 2019 when the rapper exposed some very personal details about his daughter to the entire world.

“Deyjah’s just graduated high school now and she’s attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself,” T.I. revealed on a now-deleted episode of Ladies Like Us podcast called “Life Hacks. “And yes, not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen.

Needless to say, fans were absolutely disgusted and horrified that T.I. would invade his daughter’s privacy in this way and Harris was so humiliated that she deleted her social media accounts for some time. Now, she’s revealing her personal feelings about the ordeal.

Deyjah Harris was traumatized by T.I.’s virginity test comments

Though T.I. went on Red Table Talk with Jade Pinkett Smith following the backlash for his comments and actions, we don’t think he understood how much he humiliated his daughter.

“Things are completely uncomfortable for me right now,” Harris revealed on T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle. “I’m scrolling on Twitter and I see I’ve been tagged in a post. The only word I saw was ‘gynecologist.’ I didn’t even need to read the whole title ’cause I just knew. My heart sank…[I’m] very shocked, hurt, angry, embarrassed.”

She later explained her feelings more in-depth with her cousins. “My dad even jokes with King about becoming a baby daddy,” she explained. “He would never joke like that with me,” she said, adding that this changed how she views her father. “This situation is just a little traumatizing for me.”

Deyjah Harris says T.I. always plays victim

One of Harris’ major frustrations with her father is that he is always on the defensive when someone points out what he’s done is wrong. “He always plays victim, honestly,” she explained. “I just don’t really care to be around him right now. I’ll be a better parent.  I mean, I’m not saying he’s a bad parent, I’m not saying that, but I’m just saying when it comes to stuff like this, like, I’m just gonna be more connected mentally, emotionally, all of that.”

I love you girls more than my vocabulary will allow me to express. You have grown so much right before my very eyes & blossomed into strong, brilliantly opinionated, independent young women. I'm so proud of you both and I love you to no end, more than you'll ever know. Please forgive me for any and all imperfections that cause misunderstandings between us…. Charge my mind, not my heart. You see Life may throw us curveballs & deal us some pretty bad hands at times. But rest assured, you'll NEVER find yourself in a place too high or low for me to be there to catch you when you fall. I just Can't let another second go by without letting you know while we're still here in this life together…. You have ALL MY LOVE FOR ALL MY LIFE…&AFTER‼️ @princess_of_da_south @zonniquejailee

Inside T.I. and Deyjah Harris’ current relationship

Shortly after T.I.’s comments went public in November 2019, Harris unfollowed her father on social media. Then in January 2020, he apologized to her publically.

“Please forgive me for any and all imperfections that cause misunderstandings between us…. Charge my mind, not my heart,” he wrote on Instagram.

Considering Harris’ most recent reflections, we’re not sure that she and her father are in a perfect place yet. However, we do hope the Atlanta-born rapper has learned a great deal about his actions. More than that, we hope Harris has continued to work through the humiliation and pain her father caused her.
