Steph McGovern is suffering from a sore eye following her attendance at a wedding this week. The 38-year-old uploaded a close-up picture of her swollen red eye on her Instagram Story followed by an update today. In view of her 44,000 followers, she wrote: “The result of not taking my eye make-up off properly after the wedding.
“Chubby eye,” she added alongside two close-up pictures.
This evening, Steph told fans that her eye was still sore, but this didn’t stop her from going out.
“Still swollen,” she commented, adding that she was glad she’s not on the television at the moment.
Steph joked: “Imagine… I’d only be able to put make-up on one eye… would end up looking like I’m in a Clockwork Orange.”
The presenter followed up her post with two selfies in a lift as she revealed she went out wearing her pyjama top.
Steph matched her leopard print nightwear with leggings and trainers as she popped to the shops.
She commented: “It went so well with the leggings, I thought why not?!”
The ex BBC Breakfast host has been enjoying a summer break away from her self-titled Channel 4 show.
During her time away, she has been spending time in various places such as Ballycastle and West Yorkshire.
Most recently, Steph shared snaps from working in Berwick-upon-Tweed.
The presenter was seen wearing a hi-vis as she underwent filming for a new project.
Steph shared various snaps from her day alongside the caption: “Love a bit of hi-vis…… don’t have to worry about hair or clothes!
“I’m assuming no one wants to know where this filming outfit is from #stephstuff.”

During her time off, Steph has also reacted to this year’s Strictly Come Dancing line-up.
The mother-of-one hinted she is torn at who she will vote for as her friend John Whaite and ex co-star Dan Walker will both be competing.
Steph’s friend Strictly pro Oti Mabuse will also be returning to the dance floor with a new celebrity partner.
John and Oti are regularly guests on Steph’s show.
In a Q&A with his fans, chef John was asked if he will miss Steph during Strictly.
“I’ll still be doing @stephlunch every week. She can’t keep me away no matter how hard he trues,” he joked.
In response, the presenter wrote: “He better be turning up when we’re back on.”
Steph’s Packed Lunch returns to Channel 4 in September.
