Jackie shot to fame in February this year after appearing in the viral Handforth Parish Council meeting which attracted millions of views. The virtual meeting descended into chaos when Mrs Weaver, the stand-in-clerk, kicked parish chairman Brian Tolver out for being “disruptive.”

He protested in the meeting telling Jackie Weaver: “You have no authority here, Jackie Weaver!”

She has since appeared on the opening skit for the BRIT Awards and is about to launch the second series of her podcast ‘Jackie Weaver has the Authority.’

Jackie exclusively told Express.co.uk about her time in the spotlight. She said: “I have spent many years trying to raise the profile of our Town and Parish Councils but there is still far too little known about this invaluable community asset.

“My little bit of time in the limelight has given me the opportunity to raise that profile a little and that is really important to me.”

Speaking about her appearance on the Brits, Jackie added: “At the time I really had little idea of what the Brits was and just saw it as another interview opportunity.

“The enthusiasm and awe that other people that I told had soon caught hold and I began to feel really intimidated.

“I needn’t have because the team that put it together were just smashing and made me feel that I could do it – and I did!”

Of her podcast, she said: “The thing I like best – I think that would be the opportunity to meet the variety of people that have agreed to do it with me. I am touched by the kindness of ‘stars’ that have given me their time.”

The first podcast series featured guests Jeremy Vine and former Strictly professional Anton Du Beke.

Rumours were rife since the Handforth Parish Council meeting went viral that Jackie Weaver would be waltzing onto our television screens in this year’s Strictly line-up or making an upcoming appearance on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

Jackie said of her Strictly chances “Alas no – and my big chance has gone now that Anton is a judge. Maybe if they are a judge short one week they might think of me?”

This is the first time Anton Du Beke has been made a permanent fixture on the judging panel after a two-week stint last year when fellow Judge Motsi Mabuse was forced to isolate due to Covid.

When asked about a possible stint on ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, she said: “I think I would make a great Agony Aunt for the Celebs on the programme – just don’t ask me to do anything with frogs!”

This is the second year running that I’m A Celeb will be taking place in Gwrch Castle in North Wales when it returns in November due to Covid restrictions.

Katie Rawcliffe ITV Head of Entertainment Commissioning, said: “We’ve always said we have contingencies in place for the series if the Covid situation continued to bring uncertainty, and after a highly successful run at the castle last year we’re pleased that we can return there.”
