You might say she’s scary good at playing dress-up, because Heidi Klum’s 2019 Halloween costume is even more impressive than we could have imagined — and that’s saying a lot, considering transformative Halloween costumes are kind of her thing. But this year Klum took it up one more notch as she shared her metamorphosis into, well, something truly terrifying.
Klum gets bonus points this year because she got ready for her 20th annual Heidi Halloween costume party in front of a live audience. She’s been hanging out for the better part of the day at an Amazon Prime bookstore in New York City, where a highly skilled team is on hand to transform her. She told People it would take 10 hours to put together, so Klum’s devotion to this holiday tradition once again proves unparalleled.
The costume literally started to take shape around 1 p.m. EST, when Klum shared a video of herself slipping into what looks to be a full-body silicone suit. Shortly after, she started sharing full body shots of the look. So, what is she? Well, that remains unclear. Whatever she is, it’s certainly graphic and gory. Some people think she might be an alien. Others think she’s some sort of futuristic undead.
TBH, your guess is as good as ours. Her intestines are exposed. The sinew of her shoulders can be seen, while her lower arms are held together by stitched up skin. There’s a metal plate covering her pubic area and, in her latest snapshot, it appears she has some sort of protruding metal pieces on her breasts as well as a metal dragon-like spine. If you ask us, she looks like a cross between a fembot, a White Walker and the “stitchpunks” from the animated movie 9.
In a previous interview with People, the German star did hint that she and husband Tom Kaulitz will again be coordinating their looks — last year they were Fiona and Shrek. “His is gonna be easier [than mine this year] because last year I felt so bad for him. He had never done this before, and it was harder for him than for me because he had the big belly and the face,” she shared. “I’m used to it, but he was like, ‘Oh my god, I’m gonna die! It’s so hot!’” Klum added, “He’s just as nuts as me, but I had to come up with something a little easier for him to wear this time around.”
