Katie Price hits back after being criticised for using Harvey's disabled badge

Katie Price is ‘livid’ after being criticised for using her eldest son Harvey’s disabled parking badge.

The reality TV star, 45, was slammed after onlookers learned she had used Harvey’s blue badge when he wasn’t a passenger in her car.

Katie shares Harvey, 21, with footballer Dwight Yorke, 51, but raised him on her own.

Harvey has Prader-Willi syndrome and is autistic. He also has septo-optic dysplasia, meaning he is blind.

The proud mum came under fire recently when fellow drivers thought she had been misusing Harvey’s disabled badge, which helps people with severe mobility problems park close to their destination.

However, Katie has insisted she was actually picking up her son at the time.

Speaking to her sister Sophie their podcast, The Katie Price Show, the mum-of-five began describing what had happened: ‘I was parking in a disabled bay when I had my pink Range Rover and I was getting the kids out. I was parked at Toys-R-Us.

‘This couple looked at my car and got out and went, “Who do you think you are? Just cause you’ve got a car like that, you think you could park in a disabled bay”.’

On how she responded, Katie continued: ‘I was livid. I saw them going to Currys and I’ve got Harvey out, went into Currys and went, “How dare you!” and everyone comes round.

‘I said, “Look, you all know Harvey and they’re saying I don’t have the right to park in a disabled bay.” And I had my badges. I was livid.’

The former glamour model then hit out at people who criticise the type of car she drives.

‘Doesn’t matter what car I’ve got. Why does that make a difference? I have my display badges, obviously, I had them for Harvey and got him out.’

This wasn’t the first time Katie has caught heat for parking in a disabled space.

Proceeding with her rant, she explained how people make assumptions if they don’t see Harvey with her.

‘Because I’m not seen getting out the car with Harvey, people think I’m using the badges.’

‘How does anyone know if I’m not collecting Harvey or not?’, she asked.

Katie’s comments come after she issued a warning, stating that she will be contacting the police after discovering a troll had been impersonating Harvey online.

Harvey, who is mixed race, has been subjected to horrific racism and internet bullying, with Katie recently coming across a TikTok user who mocks him.

‘I think it’s the racial abuse he gets, they take the mick about his disability,’ she told Bake Off star Laura Adlington on her Go Love Yourself podcast.

She continued: ‘There’s someone at the moment on TikTok, I must admit this guy really does look like Harvey.

‘I haven’t said his name yet because I’m going to go to the police about him and do it properly because it’s a thing.

‘He does an impression of Harvey really well, but the thing is he’s a normal guy and he’s just getting followers for doing it.’

Katie said the trolling has ‘got to stop’ as it’s ‘not funny.’

‘We all have humour, but you know when you’ve gone too far. [He’s] innocent,’ she added.
