Matt Damon Just Got Four (Yes, Four!) Sentimental New Tats

A father’s love is permanent, so it seems fitting that one of Hollywood’s most doting dads is now rocking a permanent tribute to his kids. Who’s the sentimental celeb? Matt Damon who tattooed his daughters’ names on his arm. As in four new tattoos — one for each of his and wife Luciana Barroso’s four girls: Alexia, 20, Isabella, 13, Gia, 10, and Stella, 8. Now that’s a devoted dad!

News of Damon’s fresh ink came by way of LA-based tattoo artist to the stars, Daniel Stone, a.k.a. Winter Stone. On Monday, Aug. 5, Stone shared a few photos to his Instagram feed following his tattoo sesh with Damon. He wrote in the caption: “FOR HIS KIDS #alexia #isabella #gia #stella.” Winter also called the moment an “honor [to tattoo] one of my favorite actors.” In one of the black-and-white photos shared by Stone, Damon’s upper arm is bare, revealing dainty cursive tattoo shout-outs to his daughters (drawn up by Stone). To the right of the girls’ names is one of Damon’s older tattoos, the nickname “Lucy,” in honor of his wife.

The second black-and-white photo shared by Stone shows Damon smiling beside the tattoo artist, his arm over Stone’s shoulder. Stone shared the snapshot of the pair again on his Instagram Story, reiterating to Damon that it was an “honor tattooing you Matt!”

Speaking to E! News about the opportunity to add a little ink to Damon’s arm, Stone gushed, “Matt is a legend and a very cool human being. I’m so happy that I was able to give him his tattoo! He is one of my favorite actors.” Now, Damon joins stars including Lady Gaga, Joe Jonas, Miley Cyrus and more who’ve been needled by Stone.

Not surprisingly, Damon’s new ink has once again caused conversation about another tattoo to rise from the ashes — the massive Phoenix splayed across the back of Damon’s BFF, Ben Affleck. While critics call the colorful ink everything from garish to embarrassing, Damon has his good friend’s, uh, back. When asked about the tattoo during a Daily Show appearance in March, Damon told host Trevor Noah, “It’s not one man’s job to tell another man what he can do to his back.” Laughing, Damon added, “I support him in all of his artistic expression.”

For what it’s worth, we have no doubt Affleck, along with the rest of the internet, will approve of Damon’s new ink.
