The Internet Is Calling Out Prince William's New York City Trip After This Important Meeting of His Was Canceled

Just like any fight or longstanding feud, it’s only natural that those involved, and those watching, take sides. When it comes to the feud between Prince Harry and his brother Prince William, it seems like the world has divided itself up into just that: those who are Team Harry and those who are Team William.

And, per William’s latest trip to New York City, it seems like the Big Apple has made up its mind. On Tuesday, the royal, who is visiting the city to reveal the finalists for the Earthshot Prize and attended the United Nations General Assembly, had a meeting canceled by none other than the city’s mayor Eric Adams.

According to City & State NY, Adams first rescheduled the meeting but then canceled their meeting altogether 30 minutes later. As a backup plan, William then visited an FDNY Lower Manhattan firehouse and met with FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh.

“How embarrassing,” one user wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Willy’s UN/NY tour is in tatters. He thought he could steal Prince Harry’s thunder, but instead he got haunted by Harry’s popularity ghost🤣🤣🤣. Harry’s popularity is organic. There is no need to declare himself a statesman.”

In addition to dozens of tweets criticizing the trip, the hashtag #WorkshyWilly, which criticizes the Prince of Wales’ work ethic, was trending on the platform.

Adams’ seeming snub towards William is even more poignant given Adams’ history with Harry, whom he vehemently defended him and his wife Meghan Markle following their “near catastrophic car chase” in May.
