SINCE being in lockdown, people have taken to the most bizarre trends to help fight off boredom.
Despite not being able to leave the house, curious women have been curling their hair using unusual methods in a bid to see if they actually work – and the results have been amazing.
The latest hair curling hack taking over the internet sees people use a pencil to create tight corkscrew curls.
But be warned, while people are amazed by the results, it's said to take a long time to style your whole head of hair.
Posting a short clip on TikTok, American fashion blogger Brittany Xavier demonstrated the hair-curling hack on her daughter showing just how easy it is to curl your hair without the typical styling tools.
And all you need is a hair straightener and a pencil.
To do it yourself, grab a small section of your hair and wrap it around a pencil.
The smaller the piece of hair, and the tighter you wrap it, the tighter the curl will be.
Once the hair is wrapped around the pencil, clamp it between the hot plates of a hair straightener.
Gently pull the pencil from the hair and a you'll be left with a tight curl that is somewhere between a ringlet and the crimp effect.
