Melania v Ivanka Trump net worth: Richest woman in Donald’s life revealed

Melania Trump, 49, is the First Lady of the United States, having married President Donald Trump back in 2005 – and while he may be one of the richest politicians in American history, Melania had also worked on creating her own fortune before taking up her role as the wife of the 45th president. Melania Trump has a net worth of $50 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Though now best known for her status in the White House, the Slovenian-born Melania initially made her money as a supermodel, socialite and designer.

A successful fashion model since the age of 18, Melania worked in Milan and Paris before moving to Manhattan, where she graced the covers of Vogue, New York Magazine and Vanity Fair before going on to launch her own jewellery and skincare lines.

Her jewellery collection, Melania Timepieces, sold on QVC, with items priced from $30 up to $200 selling out within minutes of going live.

The Melania Skin Care Collection was also a hit in luxury department stores, with reports that the businesses brought in royalties of between $15,000 and $50,000 in 2016.

However, the First Lady has since cut all ties with the companies now that she’s immersed in the world of politics.

Her love of fashion continues, though, with Melania often making headlines for her expensive clothing choices. The First Lady has been spotted in plenty of designer numbers including a Dolce & Gabbana jacket that retails at $52,000.

Meanwhile Ivanka, Donald Trump’s 38-year-old daughter with this first wife Ivana, has made her mark as a businesswoman, author and senior adviser to her father, and has an estimated net worth of  $300 million according to Wealthy Gorilla, making her even richer than the First Lady.

She’s believed to have a combined net worth with her husband Jared Kushner of $800 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

The American heiress has had many roles over the course of her career so it’s no wonder she’s made her fortune in her own right. Ivanka spent time as an executive vice president of the family-owned Trump Organization, as well as managing the interior design for the Trump hotels and appearing on Donald Trump’s show The Apprentice as a boardroom judge.

The millionaire has also appeared on magazine covers having been a model since she was a teen, as well as starring in the ads for the Trump Organization.

Her father paid well, too – Forbes reports that Ivanka, along with her siblings, made an estimated $35 million in pretax salary, commissions and bonuses over the past two decades, growing her wealth through an impressive pay packet rather than from owning parts of the family business.

Much like her stepmother Melania, Ivanka also went into the fashion business with her own jewellery line as well as handbags and shoes, which according to a New York Times review of internal documents was making around $75 million a year in sales by 2013.

Celebrity Net Worth reports that Ivanka received a seven percent cut of the wholesale revenues, netting her around $10 million per year in pre-tax earnings at her peak.

However, sales then plummeted and Ivanka shut down the businesses in 2018.

The mother of three now has an unpaid role as a government employee, advising 73-year-old President Trump, alongside her husband who is also a senior advisor to his father-in-law in the presidential administration.

Despite their riches the two women are far behind the wealth of the president himself, whose own net worth stands at a huge $3.1billion – a drop from his reported fortune of $4.5billion in 2015 before he was elected.

The decline is said to be down to his losses in his property value, including his Miami golf resort which is reported to have dropped by $26million in value.

However, Donald Trump remains at #1001 on the Forbes rich list and is the first billionaire to be president of the United States.

Meanwhile Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos reigned as the world’s wealthiest person for the third year running, with a net worth of $113 billion after giving $36 billion worth of his Amazon stock to ex-wife MacKenzie Bezos as part of their divorce settlement last year.
