GET perfectly crispy bacon with this quick and easy cooking hack.

Posting to TikTok, chef Roice Bethel has shared his top tip for cooking bacon, and while it may sound weird it totally works.


“If you want perfectly crispy bacon you have to boil it,” says Roice, “I know that sounds like it wouldn’t work but it does.”

Explaining his method, he continues: “There’s two parts to every piece of bacon, there’s the muscle which is the dark part and the fat which is the white part.

“The muscle cooks extremely quickly, the fat takes a longer time to render out.”

This can be countered if you put water in with the cooking meat, as this prevents the temperature from getting too high, giving the fat enough time to render out.

This means that the muscle and fat will take the same amount of cooking time, and your bacon will be evenly crispy.

The chef says: “Once the water completely evaporates then the bacon gets nice and crispy, the meat’s not overcooked or burnt and the fat has perfectly rendered so it’s nice and crispy.”

Commenters were loving Roice’s game changing tips, with one writing that he went to try it out and his bacon “came out amazing.”

Another added: “I did this but with coconut oil when I was doing keto. Best bacon even.”

“I tried, love the results” wrote a third.

Others shared their own methods for getting perfect bacon.

 “George Foreman grill, 8-10 minutes. It’s perfect and the cleanup is so easy,” wrote one TikTok user.
