I'm a home expert – my super cheap hack will keep your food fresh during summer BBQs & picnics

SUMMER is quickly approaching and that means BBQs and get-togethers.

But, how do you make your beautiful food set up last longer? One home expert has the answer.

Kim Pauckner – who shares plenty of organizing, cleaning, and lifestyle content on her social media – shared her hack to stop her food from spoiling quickly during outdoor gatherings.

If you plan to offer food, listen up.

Using an aluminum tray, which you can buy in bulk on Amazon, simply fill it up with water from the faucet.

Once a third of the tray is filled, freeze it overnight.

Yes, the water will freeze at the bottom of the tray, but this now allows you to keep food cooler for longer.

On the day of your get-together, all you need to do is set your trays full of food on top of a frozen one before covering them with aluminum foil.

Following her video, many took to the comment section to rave about how amazing the hack was.

One woman wrote: "Great idea!"

A second one shared: "So simple but it works!"

"That's genius! Thanks for sharing," said a third.

However, a few people noticed a couple of flaws with her method.

One person wrote: "Who has that kind of freezer space?"

And a second commented: "The issue with this, if it's summer, that ice melts and the pan sinks – water all over!"
