I'm curvy with big boobs & tested Primark's Valentine's Day underwear selection | The Sun

VALENTINE'S DAY is nearly upon us, which means stores like Primark have released their best affordable underwear selections to make you look – and feel – flirty and fabulous.

But when there's so many romantic date night outfit options to choose from, it can be hard to narrow down the selection.

So to save you time, we invited curvy model Sophie Hughes – who wears a 32G bra and is a size 16 – to try on Primark's best offerings in her size, and share her thoughts.

Describing her lingerie preferences, Sophie says: "The perfect bra for me is a combination of supportive, comfy and sexy.

"Lingerie is supposed to fit you, it’s not something you squeeze your body in to, and it gives you so much confidence when it fits you well.

"For Valentine's I am a huge fan of red – I think it makes you feel empowered, confident and flirty.

"Knowing you have a red set on under your outfit when you head out for your Valentine's date night adds a layer of spice to the evening!

"I think the Primark range is a really great affordable option, the red set I tried for example – including stockings – comes in at £14.50, but it feels way more expensive.

"I'm a 32G and there’s heaps of variety and plenty of options for a bigger bust too."

And if you don't have a date – so what? Be your own 'Galentine' instead.

Sophie adds: "Please let this be the year you treat yourself to some sexy lingerie, even if you just wear it around the house for a solo night in with a glass of wine!

"You deserve to feel beautiful and lingerie is not just reserved for smaller bodies, curves deserve to be celebrated too."

Lady in red

The first set Sophie tried was the red non-padded balcony bra, priced £7,lace knickers, £4 for a pack of three, and lace trim hold-up stockings, £3.50 – a total of £14.50.

Sophie says: "The bra and knickers are a perfect true-to-size fit, although the stockings run a little small on the thighs.

"The quality is really great – the bra especially is really impressive, and I love the thicker straps on the bra for more support.

"This set is also really comfortable and you could wear it out to dinner under your outfit with no problems.

"It’s mix and match so slightly different tones of red, but didn’t bother me too much and I felt powerful and sexy!

"I would definitely recommend."

Beautiful in black

This was Sophie's favourite set, consisting of black lace non-padded bra, £12 for two, cut-out lace strap mini briefs, £6 for a two pack, and gloss hold ups, £4.50 for a pack of two.

This equals £22.50 in total – and just £11.25 per outfit.

Sophie says: "The fit was perfect and super comfy, and the quality was amazing!

"This felt like a really expensive set and is definitely my favourite.

"I love the style, and I love the cut-out on the knickers – they feel really sexy but also supportive and flattering.

"The stockings are so comfy too, plus you get two sets in the pack so really great value for the money."

All set in sexy satin

Next up, Sophie tried the lace and satin cami and shorts pyjama set, £10.

She says: "The set feels luxurious and really soft – not scratchy at all.

"This is a really cute set that you could wear round the house, if you’re having a Galentine's night in, or even once you’ve taken your lingerie off and still want to feel sexy.

"However if you have a bigger bust you might prefer to wear a bra underneath – a built in bra would have been fab!"

Pretty in pink

Sophie then tried a bright pink non-padded bra, £12 for a set of two, alongside the cami shorts she tried previously.

She says: "This bra runs a little small which made it less comfortable for me.

"It's great quality though and the lace is really beautiful.

"I also absolutely love this colour – it’s giving Galentine's and girl power.

"I love pink and red so I paired it with the PJ shorts and I felt so cute!

A night (dress) to remember

Finally, Sophie also tried the red and black version of the same lace-trimmed nightdress, costing £10 each.

Sophie says: "The fit is really gorgeous – it’s longer than you’d expect and covers your bum really well.

"It also has a built in bra which fit really well and I didn’t expect to like this so much but it was so comfy!

"I could definitely see myself cooking up a Valentine's storm in the kitchen in this number and I love the lace detailing below the bust it makes it feel really sexy.

"The red is a beautiful vibrant red too.
