I’ve abandoned shampoo for a kitchen staple – it’s saved me loads… people might think I’m crazy but my locks are lush | The Sun

PEOPLE can spend anything up to £142 on shampoo.

But one woman has found that there's a 55p alternative that leaves her locks looking more luscious than when she uses her usual shampoo.

Tay was prompted to try swapping her shampoo for washing up liquid after seeing the effects it has had on her brother's hair.

Sharing a TikTok video showing his perfect ringlets, she wrote over the top: "Your brother uses dish soap for shampoo.

"His hair…"

Tay then showed herself chucking her shampoo and conditioner to one side, and replacing them with a bottle of washing up liquid.

In another video, she showed the results of the experiment, after revealing she had actually used her conditioner and curl cream as usual after shampooing with the washing up liquid.

"I think it looks pretty good!" she said.

"My hair is dead and fried so I wasn't expecting miraculous results but overall I think it looks a little better than usual.

"I might keep trying this – consistently use the washing up liquid and see what happens."

Others warned not to use the washing up liquid too frequently, and not to use it on coloured hair, as it will strip the colour and the hair's natural oils.
