MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry flew back to California on a gas-guzzling private JET, it is understood.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their children Archie, three, and Lilibet, one, flew off before the Jubilee fun had finished on Sunday.
They are understood to have travelled on a Bombardier Global 6000 "ultra long-range" plane for their 5,500-mile 11-hour journey.
Their journey home will have emitted nearly 60 tonnes of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, chartered flight firm Paramount Business Jets told The Times.
Flying on a commercial plane from Heathrow to Los Angeles on economy class emits 1.4 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide, climate firm Cube6 claimed.
Each person should aim to produce no more than 2.1 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year, the Paris climate agreement’s objectives state.

Meghan and Harry also jetted into the UK on a private jet on Wednesday, the Sun revealed.
The couple have faced repeated criticism for insisting on using private flights, despite preaching about the environment.
Harry told Oprah Winfrey last May: "We need to do better about stopping or allowing the things that are causing so much harm to so many of us at the source, rather than being distracted by the symptom.”
He previously said he aims to fly commercial usually – but "unique circumstances" sometimes mean he can't.
The couple have vowed to offset their carbon emissions on all flights.
Despite fears they may overshadow Her Majesty, 96, during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations last week, the former royals were barely seen during the "no-fanfare" trip.
QUICK MEGXIT
Meghan and Harry left their vast entourage which followed the couple around the Invictus Games – back home in California.
They wanted to bring a private photographer in to capture their first face-to-face meeting but were told “no”.
And Netflix cameras – which caused a storm when they were in the Netherlands for the Invictus Games – were also kept away.
The 10,000-mile round trip from California to London is estimated to have cost around £160,000.
It is not known who footed the bill.
The Sussexes had pledged to “stick to the script” and not plan any antics away from the Platinum Jubilee.
Meghan and Harry were first pictured playfully entertaining younger royals in the Major General's Office at Trooping the Colour on Thursday.
The thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday was then the only time they were seen in public with their family as they sat on the second row, 25ft from William, Kate, Charles and Camilla.
The Sussexes turned down the chance to have snacks and drinks with family members at The Guildhall and were instead driven back to Frogmore Cottage.
They also missed Saturday night’s epic party at Buckingham Palace – where Charles and William were cheered by the 120,000-strong crowd when they delivered incredible speeches.
