But one mum was left raging after her daughter was denied cake at a birthday party she wasn't even invited to.
Taking to TikTok, Kat Stickler revealed she was ready to 'mum shame' after a stranger denied her daughter, MK, a slice of birthday cake.
The 28-year-old mum said: "This is a question, am I entitled or is this messed up?
"Two hours ago, literally, right now, MK and I were at the park in my neighborhood and it was us and this birthday group.
"Literally just us and the birthday group."

She went on to explain that her daughter had been playing with the group for around half an hour, when it came time to sing happy birthday.
Mk went over to join the sing-a-long, with Kat adding 'She's one of the group right now.'
"They're welcoming her with open arms," she explained.
"Or so I thought.

"I was wrong, time to eat cake.
"I see MK, I see her intention of grabbing a piece of cake, so I make sure it's okay, as a formality."
Thinking it would be okay as it was massive cake that would have lots left over, Kat didn't think she had anything to worry about.
But she was stunned when the mum of the birthday kid took the plate away from MK and got on her knees to have a word with her.
The mum claimed she told MK: "You cannot eat this cake okay, this is not your birthday party, these are not your friends.
"Where's your mother?"
Mortified, Kat covered her mouth with her hands, captioning the post: "No cake for me thanks, I’m full…of rage."
The video posted to her account @katstickler has gone viral with over9.9 million views and over 1.5 million likes.
People were quick to share their thoughts in the comments section.
While many claimed her mum was unnecessarily rude to Kat's daughter, others claimed Kat should have separated her daughter from the party.
One person wrote: "I wouldn’t expect my kid be given cake, I’d be prepared to separate my child from the party."
Another commented: "There’s always so much leftover cake WHAT."
"How wild. Who does that to a young child. So cruel," penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: "That’s so mean omg."
"Why did this story bring me to tears….. WHO DOES THAT,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: "I would never allow my daughter to crash a birthday party, even if they were all playing at the park, when it was time for cake and song, I’d take my child away from that area and allow them to be guests at the party! I would never give a strangers child food bc of allergies! Huge liability!"
