PRINCESS Eugenie has written a heartwarming post congratulating Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew on their 33rd wedding anniversary – despite the fact they divorced in 1996.

Newly-married Eugenie, 29, shared two photos of her parents on their wedding day on 23 July 1986 with her one million Instagram followers.

? who else has ever forgotten to congratulate their parents on their wedding anniversary!I'm a day late but I wanted to celebrate my parents getting married 33 years ago… Thank you for always being the best of friends and bringing us up together. @hrhthedukeofyork @sarahferguson15 #weddinganniversary

The first black-and-white photo shows the happy couple holding hands during their Westminister Abbey ceremony while the second sees the newlyweds waving to crowds of Royal fans outside.

Admitting that she'd forgotten to post the tribute yesterday, Eugenie wrote: "Who else has ever forgotten to congratulate their parents on their wedding anniversary!

"I'm a day late but I wanted to celebrate my parents getting married 33 years ago… Thank you for always being the best of friends and bringing us up together."

The couple were married for ten years before their divorce and share daughters Princess Beatrice, 30, and Eugenie together.

Although Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson announced their "amicable split" in 1992, the couple have remained close friends and even continued to share a home at the Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park.

Last month, Sarah Ferguson told Hello! magazine that her and her ex-husband are "bigger than friends" amid rumours that the two were going to give their relationship another go.

In December, Sarah said that "they didn't fight hard enough to keep [her marriage to Andrew] together" and admitted that "the best thing [she's] ever done is marry him".

The couple's youngest daughter Princess Eugenie tied the knot with long-term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle last October, just six months after her cousin Prince Harry married Meghan Markle.

The bride looked stunning in a stunning low-backed bespoke gown by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos as she walked down the aisle with father Prince Andrew.

In more Royal Family news, Meghan Markle and Prince George have been slammed by royal trolls for having "no respect" for Prince George in their birthday wishes.

And The Queen is presented with sketches of her outfits and material samples before getting dresses EVERY morning, Paul Burrell has revealed.

Plus Kate Middleton and Prince William will throw Prince George a magic-themed party at Kensington Palace to celebrate his 6th birthday.
