Sex is more enjoyable for both partners the older you get, study finds – The Sun

SEX becomes more enjoyable for both partners as they get older, a study has suggested.

It found that three-quarters of those aged 65 and over felt both would equally enjoy lovemaking, compared with 58 per cent of 18 to 24-year-olds.

The study also found that 42 per cent believe men want sex more than women, with 45 per cent saying men are more likely to initiate it.

Just 11 per cent of respondents said they felt the woman decides when intercourse has finished, compared with 36 per cent for men, and 38 per cent who believe both decide.

The survey also found 57 per cent of people think women are more likely to “go along with sex to keep their partner happy”.

But only two per cent thought the same of men.

And 56 per cent of respondents felt that women were more likely to turn down sex, compared with just one per cent for men.

The YouGov poll of 3,922 straight British adults was commissioned by the End Violence Against Women Coalition.

Director Sarah Green said the survey showed up “persistent, widely held views about who sex is primarily ‘for’, who ‘needs’ it and whose pleasure matters”.
