Stacey Solomon shows off clever animal-shaped sandwiches for the kids and reveals her nifty trick to get them perfect

SHE may be one of the UK's biggest celebrities who boasts over three million Instagram followers – but when it comes to the kids lunches, Stacey Solomon is just like other mums.

Last week, the Loose Women panellist revealed her her time-saving technique of freezing her boy's pre-made sandwiches – and turns out her trick has proved useful after all.

In a bid to make the sandwiches more interesting than normal, the mum-off-three used sea-themed cookie cutters to shape the sandwiches into cute animals for the kids.

Among the cookie cutter shapes she got from Amazon was a whale, a seahorse, a shark, a stingray and a clam shell – and they are so cute.

But while the clever trick certainly did make the ordinary sandwich look more fun – especially for the youngsters – the mum revealed that that sandwiches she'd used had been defrosted which made the bread easier to shape compared to fresh bread.

So not only does preparing and freezing the sandwiches save her time, but it allows her to be more creative when it comes to feeding the kids.

This comes after she showed off her time-saving technique of freezing a week's worth of sandwiches for her boys.

On her Instagram stories, the star said last week: "I’m going to make sandwiches for the boys for the week and freeze them so I don’t have to worry on the day which makes a massive difference.

“I’ll put them in freezer bags, labelled and take them out the night before I use them.”

She may have been delighted with her “life-saver” ham and cheese rolls, but not everyone was impressed.

Following her candid post, Stacey said she received numerous people slamming her for the homemade sandwiches she had prepared.

She laughed: “The old Susans have been blowing up my phone again. They really don’t like the look of my frozen sandwiches.

“I’m sorry Susan but if I don’t have time to make fresh sandwiches, I certainly don’t have time to worry about what you think of my frozen ones.

“Happy homeschooling Susan.”
