Woman shares genius £1 hack to keep mice away for good… it won’t hurt them and it’s 100% natural | The Sun

A SAVVY woman has revealed she’s discovered a way to get rid of mice without hurting them.

Calling herself the ‘internet grandma’, the woman took to her social media account to share her nifty trick with her 3.9 million followers.

“Hi everybody, it’s Babs,” she said, starting the clip off while dressed in a mustard yellow jumper and a pair of dark jeans.

“Did your mum ever tell you there’s a natural way to keep mice out of your home and out of your hair.”

She then warned viewers that mice can get through the smallest of spaces, even ones that are as small as a pound coin.

Babs then instructed viewers to grab some “flavour bags”, which are small mesh pouches that can be tied at the top.

My three-ingredient bag keeps mice out, thanks to their strong sense of smell

“In your flavour bag [you put] one tablespoon of red pepper flakes, one tablespoon of whole cloves [and] one cinnamon stick,” she shared.

Babs continued: “Mice have a very intense sense of smell and strong smells like this keep them away.

“Best part? It’s all natural, you can put these anywhere.”

Opening a cupboard, she said they can go “all around your house” and added: “Because an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”.

In the caption, she wrote: “It is that time of year again when our little creepy crawly friends come to pay a visit to seek shelter, water and food. These DIY anti-mouse bags save the day!

“Mice rely on their amazing sense of smell to sense danger. These spices scream KEEP AWAY…

“Added bonus is they make your house smell like Christmas.”

Luckily, her hack is on the cheap side as a tablespoon of red pepper flakes from Sainsbury’s is just 55p, while a tablespoon of whole cloves is just 44p and a single cinnamon stick is 18p.

It means the bags will only set you back £1.17 – and that’s only if you don’t already have the ingredients at home.
