A WOMAN transformed her grubby stained wall with pennies to make a stunning splashback and it only cost her £55.

The crafty lady's penny dropped when she thought to overhaul her kitchen with the common household object.

She shared the incredible transformation to Facebook group 'DIY on a budget official,' uploading a before and after pic as well as a 'mid-action' shot to document the process.

The woman proudly wrote: "My Pennywall splash back all under £55 am well pleased."

In the comments section she explained how she managed to achieve the stunning result, explaining that the effect was achieved with 3,200 pennies, black grout and "just a spray lacquer from Wilko's."

And fellow group members were not only impressed but inspired!

One wrote: " I love this so much!!"

While another praised the look as "absolutely stunning!"

Others were keen to find out exactly how to achieve the look, asking " what grout did you use in between pennies.

"And then what did you put on top please."

Some fellow DIY-ers offered up advice to ensure durability, suggesting that it "needs to be set in resin." One thing's certain, it was definitely worth every penny!
