Today Aldi is announcing it is delivering the “perfect roast dinner” via Deliveroo. The launch is being made in collaboration with top chef Neil Rankin.

The supermarket’s research reveals 47 percent of Britons are planning to have more than one Christmas dinner this year.

However, nearly 11million claim cooking a roast dinner is too stressful.

Enter Aldi’s “Christmas on a Plate”, taking the pressure off cooks this festive season.

The partnership with Great British Menu star Rankin and Deliveroo sees a Christmas dinner delivery roll out across select locations in London, Edinburgh and Manchester on Sunday December 13.

It gives customers the chance to order a perfectly cooked roast in return for a £5 donation to food charity Neighbourly.

With the option to order either traditional turkey or a vegan meal, the roasts have been expertly curated by Rankin and will include tasty side dishes and ingredients from Aldi’s Specially Selected range.

Aldi’s research looked at how we’re planning Christmas dinner – a highlight for many.

The findings unveiled that one in four plan to cook the meal themselves, for the first time ever this year.

Rankin will be rooting for first-time cooks, providing expert tips on how to take Christmas dinner from average to amazing, after 51 percent of the nation say they are going to need expert tips before they can tackle one of the most important meals of the year.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director for Buying at Aldi, commented: “After a year unlike any other, we want to give our customers a treat by taking the stress out of cooking at home, which is why we’ve partnered with Neil Rankin and Deliveroo to create Christmas on a Plate.

“Our research has shown that people will be celebrating in many different ways this year.

“But one thing is for certain – the nation is still gearing up to enjoy an amazing Christmas dinner and that’s where we’re best placed to help, with beautiful food at great value.

“We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy quality food not just at Christmas, but every day of the year, and that’s why all proceeds of our initiative will go to Neighbourly, supporting local charities and communities.”

Aldi’s click and collect service has been extended to make Christmas shopping easier.

The supermarket launched its first trial back in September, but it was only available at one store in the Midlands.

In October, it was rolled out into more stores, but now it is ready to be rolled out nationally.

Customers can order a full range of groceries online, before collecting them from an Aldi store.

Martin Lewis recommended booking Christmas food delivery slots now to avoid disappointment.

Money Saving Expert recommended in tis newsletter: “You may need to go quick as some slots have already sold out.

“New and existing Asda, Co-op, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose shoppers can all sign up for Christmas slots.”
