Halloween bucket Happy Meals return to McDonald's

For the first time in more than five years, McDonald’s has released new limited edition Halloween buckets for Happy Meals.

There are three spooky designs to choose from: the white McBoo, a green McGoblin and a classic orange pumpkin option.

Each brightly-coloured retro bucket comes with stickers and activities and eagled-eyed fans might recognise them, as they first made an appearance back in the 1980s.

They then returned for a short time in 2016, for spooky season.

The only catch is they are currently only available in the USA.

And it seems the fast food giant has no intention of making them available in the UK. This is also the case for Adult Happy Meals, which are due to launch across the pond, but not in the UK.

Naturally, Twitter has erupted with disappointment at this news.

One unhappy customer wrote: ‘Why are you doing all this fun stuff with US McDonald’s and not for other McDonald’s around the world eg. celeb meals, adult Happy Meals, Halloween buckets… I could go on and on. These things would be popular in other countries as well and you know it but do nothing about it.’

While another added: ‘Hey @McDonaldsUK. Why doesn’t the UK get the Happy Meal Boo Buckets?? Kids here go trick-or-treating.’

However, it’s not all doom and gloom for Maccies fans in the UK, as there are a few new menu items to sink your teeth into instead – including potato waffles, the BBQ Bacon Stack, a Twirl McFlurry and Nacho Cheese Wedges.
