How to make rich Nutella hot chocolate using your 'empty' jar

Even the most fastidious of Nutella-eaters waste a little bit at the end of the jar.

Aside from sticking a finger in and catching the last bits (we’ve all been there) there’s thankfully an easier way to avoid wasting chocolate spread.

This easy recipe from Taste This Now on YouTube shows you how, and it only takes a couple of minutes.

Best of all, you end up with a rich, Nutella-flavoured hot chocolate, ideal for sipping as we come into autumn and winter.

Instead of washing out your container each time, instead try this.

Add two cups of hot milk to your Nutella jar. It’s best to do this when you’ve not quite scraped everything out yet, as you’ll get more of that hazelnut flavour.

Mix and add whipped cream, before sprinkling over mini chocolate chips, marshmallows, or any other toppings you desire.

A drizzle of melted Nutella adds an extra touch.

It really is that simple, but a method worth having on hand as the weather cools down. As hot chocolate stations become a popular home feature at Christmas, this way’s mess and waste-free.

That isn’t all Nutella fans can make with their favourite spread, either.

A dad shared a recipe this week for a sumptuous mug cake that uses just two ingredients (one of them, of course, being the Ferrero favourite).

It’s flourless for people who can’t eat it, and can even be cooked in the microwave.

Kitchen hacks and chocolate spread? What’s not to love.
