Eating chocolate eggs during the Easter holiday has been a tradition for many British people since the Victorian age. Luckily, there are currently many chocolate eggs available at supermarkets for affordable prices so you can pick up several just in time for Easter.

Morrisons is this weekend slashing prices of its Easter eggs to half price.

Some eggs that were £1.50 are now 75p, while Easter eggs that used to cost 99p are now 24p.

These offers were available from yesterday, March 12, and will remain valid until tomorrow, March 14.

The Easter eggs include the Cadbury Mini Egg Medium egg, the Cadbury Crème Egg Medium Egg, and the Cadbury Chocolate Buttons egg.

Other Easter eggs on offer from Nestlé and Galaxy include the Smarties Medium egg, the Rolo Milk Chocolate and Caramel Medium egg, the Maltesers Medium egg, the Aero Bubbles Milk Chocolate Medium egg, and the Mars Medium egg.

Customers can pick up all these eggs for great prices at Morrisons stores now.

As well as slashing the prices of its Easter eggs, Morrisons has also just launched its spring bakery range.

With prices starting from just 50p, the range features mocha hot cross buns, lemon doughnuts, and mini egg doughnuts.

Morrisons is well-known for its doughnuts and has introduced unique flavours in the past, such as salted caramel, gingerbread, and fruit salad.

The supermarket’s new lemon doughnuts are available in packs of five for just 50p.

They are freshly prepared in store and hand-filled with lemon curd by Morrisons craft bakers.

There are also new Mini Egg Easter doughnuts on sale, costing £1.50 for a pack of three.

These luxury chocolate iced doughnuts are filled with a smooth chocolate filling and topped with chocolate icing and chocolate Mini Eggs.

Also for Easter, Morrisons has brought back its popular Mocha Hot Cross Buns, which cost £1 for a pack of four.

The buns are coffee-flavoured and are filled with dark chocolate chips.

Jane Holmes, Product Development Manager at Morrisons, said: “We’re so excited to see our new bakery products getting so much love on social media. We hope that they will add a spring to our customers steps in the run up to Easter.”

In other Morrisons news, the supermarket has recently launched an afternoon tea food box to treat your mum with this Mother’s Day.

The box includes classic sandwich filler, sultana scones, and crisps.

It costs £20, but this price also includes delivery.

Morrisons said: “Tuck into a delicious treat at home, or why not order on behalf of a loved one as a surprise treat?”
