A food recall is issued when there is a discovery made about an item which is deemed unsafe for the consumer. The latest food recall comes from supermarket Sainsbury’s who has issued two food recalls.
The first food recall is on packs of Knoppers Wafers.
The batch codes affected are B12N, B12M and B16C.
Sainsbury’s said in a statement: “It has been brought to our attention that packs of Knoppers Wafers that are overstickered and have been purchased at Sainsbury’s with the batch codes above, contain undeclared allergens.
“The affected batches have different labels and do not consistently highlight or declare peanuts, soya or milk on the packaging making them unsuitable for customers with an allergy to those ingredients.
“We are asking customers who have purchased these products not to eat them and to return the item to their nearest Sainsbury’s store for a full refund when they next visit for groceries and other essentials.”
The best before dates affected are July 19, 2021 and August 16, 2021.
Sainsbury’s added: “No other products have been affected by this issue. Polish Specialities Ltd would like to apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.”
The supermarket giant is also recalling Off The Eaten Path Caramelised Onion & Balsamic Vinegar Rice & Pea Chips, 120g.

Tesco issues food recall on noodles and ice cream due to allergy fears [WARNING]
This is because the crisps have been flavoured with Thai Chilli & Lime seasoning rather than Caramelised Onion & Balsamic Vinegar and contained undeclared milk.
The presence of milk that is not declared on the label means it is unsafe for anyone who has an allergy to milk.
Customers should look for the best before date of September 11, 2021.
Sainsbury’s said: “We are asking customers who have purchased these products not to eat them and to call the customer careline on 0800 274777.
“No other products have been affected by this issue. PepsiCo would like to apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.”
There are also a number of other food recalls currently in place by other supermarkets.
Asda is recalling its vegetable cous cous as a precaution because it may contain salmonella.
Salmonella can cause symptoms such as sickness, fever and stomach cramps.
Asda said in a statement: “If you have purchased Asda Vegetable Cous Cous (500g), do not eat the product.
“Please bring it to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund.”
The best before dates affected are those up to and including June 3, 2021.
The supermarket added: “We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. If you would like any further information please contact: Asda Customer Relations – 0800 952 0101.”
