A food recall warning has been issued on products including baby food, dips and cereals. These are the latest updates from Tesco, Asda and Aldi.

Nutricia baby food

Cow & Gate and Aptamil have issued food recall warnings as a precautionary measure.

The manufacturer previously recalled products due to a possible safety risk.

This has now been extended to include more batches which are sold in Tesco, Asda and Morrisons.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) website states: “Nutricia is recalling Cow & Gate and Aptamil Muesli products because some packs have been found to contain pieces of apple stalks.

“The presence of the apple stalks presents a choking hazard to babies making these products unsafe to eat.

“This is an update to the recall of the same products on 15/01/2021 as two of the products were re-released in error.”

Some batches could contain apple stalks which would create a safety risk to small children.

Anyone who has bought the food item can return it to stores where they will be given a full refund.

Point of sale notices will be displayed in stores which give more information on the recall and what shoppers should do if they have bought the product.

Tesco Tzatziki

The supermarket has recalled the dip as it contains ingredients not listed on the label.

The FSA website states: “Tesco is recalling Tesco Tzatziki because it contains egg which is not mentioned on the label.

“Due to a packaging error, some of the packs contain Sour Cream and Chive Dip. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.

“If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to egg do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”

The affected packs are 200g with the best before date of April 12, 2021.

Harvest Morn Crisp Rice 375g

The cereal product has been recalled as it may contain small pieces of plastic.

It is sold in Aldi and the supermarket chain has issued a statement on the product.

“Our supplier is recalling this product as the box may contain small pieces of plastic,” it said.

“Customers are advised not to eat this product.

“Customers are asked to return this product to the nearest store, where a full refund will be given.

“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.”

The pack size is 375g, has the product code 57301 and best before date of November 2021.

The batch codes 10470953, 10480953 and 10490953 are affected.
