Buffets in restaurants were scrapped last year after the pandemic meant Britons had to social distance and remain seated when eating food out. With rules now lifted in England, the likes of Pizza Hut have announced the return of its buffets.

Pizza Hut’s all you can eat buffet has now relaunched in England as most of the coronavirus restrictions have been lifted.

The chain has said it will continue to have a number of hygiene and cleaning measures in place across its restaurants.

This will help to keep staff members and customers as safe as possible.

The buffets are available in England on weekdays from 3pm.

Pizza Hut says there are now eight pizza options to choose from including Margherita, Pepperoni, Hawaiian, BBQ Americano, Simply Veg, Veggie HOT One, Spicy Chicken and Classic Chicken.

Each Pizza Hut will also serve up it’s own manager’s special pizza.

Kathryn Austin, Pizza Hut’s chief people and marketing officer, said: “We are excited to be able to finally put our guests back in control and give them their beloved buffet back.

“We’d like to thank our brilliant team members at huts across the UK for their hard work under the difficult circumstances of the past 18 months.

“While we’re celebrating the return of our much-loved unlimited offerings, the safety of our guests and team members remains paramount and so we ask that all our customers act responsibly when dining with us.”

Customers dining in Scotland and Wales can take advantage of Pizza Hut’s “Bluffet” option.

This means customers can still get unlimited pizza, pasta, salads and tortilla chips all served directly to their table.

Social media users were delighted with the news that buffets were returning in England.

One person said: “The buffet is back #PizzaHut.”

Another wrote: “I don’t want Pizza Hut lunch buffet….I need Pizza Hut lunch buffet.”

“Need to go to the Pizza Hut buffet again, so many memories at my local,” said a third.

The adult buffet will cost customers £8.99 while the children’s option is £5.99.

This has slightly increased since the old buffet prices of £7.95 for an adult and £4.95 for a child.

Toby Carvery is also welcoming customers back, encouraging customers to use contactless payment options.

The chain is also continuing its cleaning protocols as well as asking diners to use its pay at table service.

Due to ongoing supply issues, Toby Carvery has warned that some popular items might not be available.

The company said: “As our suppliers gear themselves back up for service, some ingredients and some dishes on our menus may not be available.

“In the short term, therefore, the descriptions on menus may not always accurately reflect the contents of the dish. This means if you have any dietary requirements, it is really important to speak to a member of the team before placing an order.”
