Fans will know that Tori Morgan has recently been placed into protective custody after the killer gang who wiped out Robbo’s (Jake Ryan) old family have resurfaced. In reality, actor Penny McNamee went on maternity leave, which ties in well with Tori’s current pregnancy situation on the show.
Meanwhile, the hospital in Summer Bay needs a new Head of Emergency to cover Tori’s absence, which means there’s a new face in town. Dr Alex Neilson, played by Zoe Ventoura, will be showing her face – and making quite the impact – for UK fans from October 8, with Robbo and Raffy (Olivia Deeble) just a few of the people she ends up helping out in significant ways.
However, one Summer Bay favourite appears to end up more of a prominent fixture in Dr Alex’s life – with pictures revealing that she and Willow end up going on what looks like a date. As Willow is dressed in a mauve minidress instead of her usual sports gear for her job as a personal trainer at Summer Bay Fit, the occasion looks to be a special one as the pair hold each other before linking arms and walking away.
At the end of May, Willow actress Sarah Roberts spoke on The Morning Show about how her storyline was about to get more positive, saying: ‘Happy days are coming. There is something really exciting coming up for her!’ This will be a relief for fans who previously shipped Willow with Dean (Patrick O’Connor) and Justin (James Stewart), only to find that the relationships didn’t work out – and Willow being left to face Dean moving on with Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) and Justin moving on with Leah (Ada Nicodemou).
So how does Dr Alex make her first appearance in Home and Away? The first scene we see her in is tied in to the Robbo storyline, as the killer gang send him a message about Dylan Carter – by dumping a close-to-dead man with a mysterious symbol slashed into his chest on the side of a road. The medical team battle to save his life, but will they succeed?
