Bella (Courtney Miller) and Nikau (Kawakawa Fox-Reo) have recently gone on the run so that Bella can avoid being interviewed by Angelo over the death of her father, Ross Nixon (Justin Rosniak). Believing she is protecting Colby (Tim Franklin), WIllow (Sarah Roberts) and Dean (Patrick O’Connor), she escapes to the mountains with her boyfriend.
However, Nikau becomes increasingly concerned about their safety, and although they spend a steamy night together in a tent, he realises they need to call for help when the car they bought breaks down in the forest.
Bella tries to convince him that turning on his phone is a terrible idea – Colby will track them down right away – but Nikau leaves her by the car as he goes into the main road to get a signal on his device.
Seeing a car on the road, he flags it down – then realises his bad luck has peaked as the vehicle contains Ari (Rob Kipa Williams), Tane (Ethan Browne) and Mac (Emily Weir). He legs it through the forest with Ari and Tane hot on his tail – will they get to him?
Meanwhile, Bella has decided to continue on her own, realising that Nikau could get them discovered by wandering around with his phone on. She camps alone in the forest that night, left exposed to the elements – how long can she survive like this?
