90 Day Fiancé star Deavan Clegg swears it’s not what you think. The TLC franchise star is now trying to walk back a joke she made at her husband’s expense. Fans, however, don’t seem convinced. In fact, they seem to feel badly for Jihoon Lee, who was the butt of a joke focusing on the size of his penis. To make matters worse, Lee is also facing some high expectations from Clegg’s mother. 90 Day Fiancé couple Deavan Clegg and Jihoon Lee seemed to be sailing smoothly after their move to South Korea, but it turns out that all is not as well as it may seem. In fact, Clegg’s mother expects more from her son-in-law.
During a recent clip, Clegg’s mother told cameras of Lee, “At 30, he should already have a house. He should already have a huge savings account.”
Fans were quick to call foul on Clegg’s mother, with some pointing out sexist connotations to her comment, and others saying that her expectations are simply unrealistic.
One Redditor commented, “Is her daughter taking steps to have a house and huge savings account by 30?”
“I mean for real. What decade are we living in where the sole responsibility falls on the husband/partner, especially when he’s supporting a child from her previous relationship. Her mom is deluded as hell,” replied the original poster.
“And at 23 with two kids your daughter should know how to procure and use reliable birth control,” another pointed out.
Deavan Clegg makes condom joke, backpedals
Deavan Clegg is now facing increased scrutiny from 90 Day Fiancé fans following a joke that did not sit well. During a recent episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Clegg joked about Jihoon Lee’s condom size.
Clegg said, “The last condom was too big and fell off, so I got Jihoon the ‘extra snug’ condoms. If it doesn’t work I will be cutting off fingers from latex gloves.”
Frankly, it sounds as if Clegg is calling her husband’s penis small. Suffice it to say, fans were shocked that Clegg would seemingly drag her husband like that on national television. Clegg has since taken to Instagram to do damage control.
She wrote on her story, “Don’t worry, Jihoon knows how to work it.” She also added, “If anyone was wondering about my condom joke of it slipping off…well that was actually directed towards my first pregnancy with Drascilla.”
‘90 Day Fiancé’ fans react
90 Day Fiancé fans aren’t buying Deavan Clegg’s attempts at clarifying her condom joke. They still seem to feel as if it was totally uncalled for and basically aimed at Jihoon Lee’s penis size.
One Redditor commented, “She packs tiny rubbers for her ex? Thought she was going to Korea, not back in time.”
Another added, “‘Knows how to work it’ is basically a confirmation of how people interpreted it. Do any of these people actually think before they post?”
“But wasn’t it super clear she was talking about jihoon because she was referring to her pregnancy [with] Taeyang?” asked out another user.
One Redditor wrote, “‘Jihoon already has no job, lives with his parents, and can’t support his family, what can I say on national TV to make him feel better.’”
