We’re so used to seeing Angelina Jolie with brunette hair that we barely recognised her in the trailer for Marvel’s new movie The Eternals.

Wearing what is most likely a wig, the 46-year-old Maleficent actress looks ethereal with long platinum-blonde hair and an ageless complexion.

The full-length trailer for The Eternals – in which Angelina plays elite warrior Thena – was shared yesterday, and prompted an influx of fan excitement. Many Twitter users were quick to comment on Angelina’s jaw-dropping new look.

“Angelina Jolie blonde? Yes Queen,” wrote one.

Another commented: “Is It weird that the only thing I took away from this is Angelina Jolie blonde hair?”

A third wrote: “Blonde Angelina Jolie is incredibly my aesthetic.”

Fans will probably remember other occasions when the mum-of-six has gone blonde for roles. There was the blonde hair with a side fringe in the 2010 film Salt, then there was the iconic (and definitely not to be copied) choppy micro-fringe in Girl, Interrupted.

Angelina seems to be more selective on the roles she accepts these days. She’s only appeared in five movies since 2016 – one of them being The Eternals.

She’s joined by a star-studded cast for this venture, with Gemma Chan playing frontwoman Sersai and Salma Hayek taking the role of spiritual leader Ajak. Richard Madden and Kit Harington also feature as male leads.

Gemma also got a lot of fan love on Twitter, with users praising her look and her acting skills.

“I will only be watching Marvel movies that have Gemma Chan in from now on,” said one.

Another wrote: “I am going to be watching The Eternals for Gemma Chan and Gemma Chan alone.”

Gemma has been going from strength to strength as of late. Just last year she was announced as L'Oréal Paris’ international spokesperson – joining the likes of Eva Longoria and Kate Winslet.

We don’t know about you but we can’t wait to see Angelina and Gemma on the big screen when the movie debuts in November!
