B&M shoppers rush to buy summer garden staple and it scans at 50% off at the till | The Sun

B&M shoppers are flocking to buy a summer garden staple that is scanning at the till for 50% off.

Spring has sprung and summer is just around the corner which means BBQ season is on its way.

Fans of the discount store are often finding great and unexpected bargains.

And one shopper posted their steal on the HotUKDeals website.

They managed to grab a George Foreman four burner gas BBQ for just £125, down from £240.

Shoppers took to the comments to share that they were impressed.

We couldn't find the BBQ online, though B&M is selling BBQs on its website.

If you're after this one in particular, do head to your local store to see if it's there.

Bear in mind that stock will vary and so will pricing – so you may not get the exact deal as the lucky customer above.

Remember, it's only a steal if you were planning on buying the item anyway.

If you can't find the same deal at B&M, at the time of writing we saw the same grill going for £192 online at B&Q.

And Argos is selling a similar grill for £155, down from £210.

How can I save money at B&M?

While a closing down sale offers big discounts on already bargain prices, there are still ways to save at B&M every other day too.

The B&M barcode scanner app allows you to discover discounted items before the staff have even reduced them.

The scanner is located on the B&M Stores mobile app, which can be downloaded for free on your smartphone.

Shoppers can download it on the App Store or Google Play.

Once you've got the app, click on the "scan" button at the bottom of your homepage.

This will then bring up the camera on your smartphone, which you'll need to use to scan barcodes.

When you've found a product you want to scan, simply point your smartphone camera toward its barcode.

The app will then automatically bring up the item's price – this is when you'll know if it is reduced or not.

Bargain hunters say some items come up as £1, 50p or even 10p through the app.

Shoppers should also keep an eye out for products with a white reduction sticker on.

This means they will have a certain amount slashed off the price shown on the label.

Shop for products at the end of the season – we've seen shoppers make huge savings this way.

Most recently, shoppers have been rushing to buy a garden essential for just 10p that's been hailed a "bargain".

How do I maximise my chance of finding a bargain?

The Sun has covered plenty of B&M scanner wins over the years, so we've picked up a few tricks or tips along the way.

Here are some pointers to help you nab a deal:

Check seasonal items

These are the items that are most likely to be reduced. So after Christmas, you'll want to be checking all the festive products.

And after summer, you may find paddling pools and outdoor toys reduced.

Scan reduced items

Even reduced items can be discounted even further when you check them with the B&M scanner.

Visit more than one B&M

If you've got the time, it could pay to visit more than one B&M as stock availability and discounts will vary between branches.

For example, we previously spoke to a B&M shopper who nabbed £860 worth of goods for £80 by visiting five stores in one day.

Pick your day and time carefully

We've spoken to B&M haulers who claim the time and day you visit your local store does have an impact on how many bargains you'll find.

There isn't a set formula for all stores, so try and visit at different times until you know when is best.

Use Facebook groups

Keep an eye on what is likely to be reduced by joining B&M Facebook groups.
