A bride-to-be has been mercilessly mocked online by cruel trolls after proudly showing off her engagement ring.
The anonymous young woman posted a photo of the small purple ring on Facebook, before it swiftly went viral.
‘I love it but shame away,’ she wrote alongside a picture of the ring.
And people did with many claiming the ring looked so cheap it would turn your finger green in a matter of days.

‘Why would you do this to yourself? Don’t post rings that have sentimental ties. You’re just gonna get caught up in your feelings when people tell you how cheap and juvenile this looks,’ one woman wrote on the post.
Others were less subtle.
‘When a Pandora ring would actually be an upgrade,’ wrote another.
‘He told the jeweller ”her favourite colour is purple and my budget is $5” and the jeweller just said ”I got you fam”,’ one woman said.
Others joked the only thing missing were the matching stick-on earrings and a heart-shaped centre stone.
‘I think 15 is a little too young to be engaged, but congratulations,’ one woman wrote.
‘I just cannot take this post seriously. Tell me why I got an identical ring in a Halloween costume package for princess peach at 10 years old,’ another wrote.
One woman said it doesn’t matter how much the bride likes the ‘purple pimple’ because ‘it is never going to grow into a real ring’.
Another woman asked if the woman had to burn a candle to get to the ring.
‘Let’s play gumball machine or bath bomb – it’s a great game for the whole family,’ snorted another.
Although the woman’s engagement band is small, it does tap into current trends for alternatives to the once-standard larger diamond solitaire.
In a piece by Wedding Chicks, it stated Etsy experts had noted a shift away from traditional rings to a range that included smaller style bands.
‘With today’s young couples investing more in life experiences (travel, home ownership) and less in over-the-top ceremonies and budget-busting rings, the days of the boulder-size diamond as a status symbol are fading fast.’
