Courteney Cox and Emily Ratajkowski Have Landed on the Next Big Boot Trend

Courteney Cox and Emily Ratajkowski don’t typically take the same styling approach. The former is a bit more timeless with her outfit choices while the latter makes regular outings in bold, of-the-moment essentials that some of us (this writer included!) would only ever dream of wearing. But alas, we have finally found a common thread between the two, and we have a feeling it’s about to kick off the next big shoe trend of the year.

Cox and Ratajkowski didn’t only pick nearly identical red boots for an afternoon out in NYC, but they did so on the same exact day. Whether this was a mere coincidence (which it likely was) or planned (perhaps they are secret BFFs who text about what they’re wearing?), one thing’s for certain: It made for one darn good twinning moment, and we totally want in.

Cox styled her tall red boots with skinny jeans (the best type of denim for tucking), a white blouse, and a leather blazer that she casually threw over her shoulders. Ratajkowski took a similar approach with her red snakeskin sock booties, teaming them with loose-fitting jeans, a graphic white tee, and an oversized black blazer with satin lapels. Are you sensing a styling theme here? Because we certainly are.

EmRata and Courtney Cox both love this boot trend!

Black, white, and red are such a classic color combo, but sometimes, wearing red pants or a red blouse can feel a bit too bold (I, for one, tend to shy away from that much color). That’s where crimson boots — or really, any type of red shoe — comes into play. They’re the perfect low-key way to add a pop of color to any outfit without having to commit too much to the poppy hue.

So get ready to toss your safe black booties aside for something a bit more sexy. Because when two of Hollywood’s most stylish women are on board, there’s truly no reason not to. Shop our favorite red boot from brands like Thursday Boots, Dear Frances, Steve Madden, and Paris Texas, below.
