A question that causes controversy in pubs, playgrounds, and parks across the land: what is the best crisp?

From the punchy mouthful of a pickled onion Monster Munch to the classic taste of a Walkers Ready Salted, the UK is certainly blessed with an abundance of crisp choices.

Now, a crisp fan has added fuel to the fiery debate after ranking different flavours in a controversial list posted on social media.

Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, under the handle @Noodles_91, the user provoked a fierce debate over which packet is the best on offer across the UK.

Rankings crisps in five different tiers from ‘god tier’ to ‘bad tier’, they included a number of fan favourites, but their opinion was met with shock and dismay from other users on the platform.

Consigned to the lowest tier of the list were tangy cheese Doritos, lightly salted Tyrrell’s, prawn cocktail Skips, ready salted Pringles and original Pom Bears.

Labelled in the ‘average tier’ were Wotsits, roast beef Monster Munch and barbecue beef monster munch.

In the middle tier, they placed sour cream and chive Pringles, spicy Nik Naks and Walkers prawn cocktail crisps.

Pushing for top spot in the second tier were salt and vinegar Chipsticks, as well as pickled onion and Flamin’ Hot Monster Munch packets.

Completing the list in the ‘god tier’ were McCoy’s Flame Grilled Steak, Chilli Heatwave Doritos, Crispy Bacon Frazzles and cheese Quavers.

Other users were quick to admonish the original poster for their crisp choices in reply, with one user replying: ‘So much right but so much wrong. What am I seeing’.

Another wrote: ‘Pom Bears deserve more respect’.

A third added: ‘You have quavers top tier? Get them in the bin!’

A fourth jokingly tagged Police Scotland in reply, commenting: ‘This tweet right here @PoliceScotland’.

Liam Waddington, who is from England but lives in Poland, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share his chocolate opinions – but some people think his rankings are controversial to say the least.

The post, which racked up over 500,000 views, was captioned: ‘Accurate UK Chocolate Tier List.’

The content creator ranked the sweet treats from ‘God tier’ to ‘a bit sh**’ placing Cream Eggs, Snickers, Reese’s, Ferrero Rocher and Terry’s Chocolate Orange at the very top.

While at the very bottom of the list was Cadbury’s Fudge, After Eights and Rolos, leaving some people fuming.
