THE BISEXUAL

Double episode ★★★½

9.25pm, SBS Viceland

With the acerbic humour of The L Word and the flamboyance of Queer as Folk, comes this British-American foray into the next taboo – bisexuality. Finding herself in a different kind of closet, Leila becomes a sexuality explorer forging a new frontier.

The participants in this backpacking nightmare appear to be acting out the observations made by philosopher Alain de Botton in his seminal book on travel with every bucket-list-ticking step they take on their quest for fame and fortune. Cheating scandals, not discoveries of local culture, has marked their expedition. It’s all about strategies, tactics and a questionable carbon footprint in this final dash across Australia’s Top End.

Their surprise delivery at the unveiling might spell the end of their serenity, though.
