Former Coronation Street star and Loose Women panelist Denise Welch, who is the mother of rocker Matty Healy, has surprised fans with her A-list connections.
In March 2023, the 64 year old left fans stunned when she gave a speech at Michael Caine’s 90th birthday dinner – and it was reported that her rude jokes left A-list actor Tom Cruise in fits of laughter.
It’s thought Denise has actually been pals with Sir Michael for years now, having first met when Denise’s artist husband Lincoln Townley painted his portrait back in 2016.
Through Sir Michael, Denise has reportedly met some of his celeb pals including Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise and British Comedian David Walliams.
She’s also been introduced to plenty of other celebs through her artist husband, who has also reportedly painted Dame Judi Dench, Al Pacino, Leonardo DiCaprio and Charlie Sheen.
Not to mention the fact that Denise has met some very famous musicians through her son, rocker and The 1975 frontman Matty Healy.
Matty most recently introduced his beloved mum to Taylor Swift when the pop star made a surprise appearance on stage at one of his gigs.
Taylor posed for a sweet selfie with Denise backstage – which fans now think was a hint that Taylor and Matty were secretly dating at the time!
At the same concert, Denise made sure to also pose for a quick picture with pop star Charli XCX, who is dating The 1975’s drummer George Daniel.
Denise, who has repeatedly said that she’s “immensely proud” of her son’s musical prowess, has also used a few of his gigs to meet other famous rockers.
When The 1975 performed at the iconic Californian music festival Coachella in 2016, Denise was sure to be in the crowd supporting.
As she enjoyed some of their hits, the Loose Women panelist ran into 30 Seconds to Mars frontman and Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto.
The two posed for a quick picture together and Denise described the A-lister as “my new best friend” in the caption.
Denise, who recently said she'd rather pledge allegiance to Harry and Meghan than Charles at his coronation, also meets plenty of famous faces through her own TV work and is close friends with many actors and presenters in the industry.
She’s thought to be especially close with her Loose Women co-stars and is reported to have continued to enjoy a friendship with former panelist Kate Thornton.
The 64 year old is also pals with Benidorm actor David and often posts pictures with him.
In a recent snap, she joked that her followers had “missed him” as much as she had as they hadn’t seen each other in a while.
