Finley the Springer Spaniel has hair most of us can only dream of, and he didn’t even need to spend a fortune at the salon to get it.
When the now-three-year-old dog was born, it was with an auburn mohican style on top of his head, which has now grown into a wavy bob cut that makes him look like an Instagram model.
It sort of has turned him into a model of sorts, and his Instagram account now boasts over 12,000 followers, which his owner Rebecca Munday, 21, says is all down to his luscious locks.
Rebecca, who lives in Hardwicke, Gloucester, said: ‘It all started when he was six-months-old with a mohawk, then as he grew – his hair did too.’
Finley goes to the groomers as much as any other dog – every six months – but Rebecca brushes him daily to keep him looking sharp and get rid of any tangles.
‘I absolutely love it and so do other people, we get stopped every time we are out in public,’ says dog care assistant Rebecca.
‘People always compliment his hair and say he looks like a Rockstar, Finley loves the attention and additional fuss from people.
‘He has been compared to Brian May from Queen and John Lennon.’
The pup – who now ‘works’ as an online influencer for dog brands – used to get trims from Rebecca before she realised just how much of an asset his curls were.
‘I have crazy coloured hair myself, so it has become our thing,’ she says.
Members of the public aren’t the only ones who like his look – business owners too.
Finley has gained a range of free products from toys, collars, leads, beds and even poo bags to promote via his Instagram account.
Rebecca donates additional collars and toys to animals at the shelter where she works.
Products aren’t the only things she credits her influencer dog with getting her, though.
She says: ‘I even met a really close friend through Instagram as I was always buying products from her online and we began meeting up.
‘We then went on to move from Essex to Cotswold where I met my fiancé Ollie Bracey, 22, so I have a lot to thank Finley for.
‘He is the most loving dog I could ever wish for and I am very lucky to have him. He is so well behaved and very much toy and treat motivated which is how I manage to get him to pose for the camera.
‘Finley is super chilled but a typical mad spaniel when he is near water or mud, he will always come home filthy!’
Perhaps he just wants another shampoo and blowdry to get himself looking Insta-ready once again.
