Lucy Pargeter’s career
Lucy, 43, is most renowned for her role as Chas in Emmerdale, but aside from this it’s the musical scene that may have first drawn your attention to the star.
Yes Lucy is a singer-turned-actress who was once part of girl band Paperdolls, who toured with the likes of Boyzone.
With Paperdolls, Lucy released a debut single called ‘Gonna Make You Blush’ which was released in 1998.
Speaking about the experience with the band, Lucy once told Woman magazine: “It was a laugh. We went from thinking we were just a few girls getting together and doing a few songs, to getting signed by a record label and touring. It was a great time.”
Then, in 2002 Lucy landed her role as Chas, and boy are we glad she did! For her role, she won the British Soap Award for Best Actress in 2019.
The English actress also played Helen Raven in Crossroads and finished third in the 13th series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2013.
Yet despite being a very successful soap actress, Lucy has confessed to not watching soaps herself.
She told What’s On TV: “I don’t even watch Emmerdale, to be quite honest with you. I record it, but I don’t watch it. We work until eight, so when you get home it is half past eight. I don’t watch any soaps, how awful is that?!”
Is Lucy Pargeter married?
Lucy split from her long-term partner Rudi Coleano in 2019.
A statement was released shortly after, regarding her relationship, which read: “Lucy Pargeter has confirmed she has separated from her long-term partner, Rudi Coleano, and, while no longer together, their main priority is raising their three daughters.”
Lucy and Rudi had been together for 12 years before their split.
Does Lucy have children?
Lucy shares daughters Lola, 14, and three-year-old twins Betsy and Missy with Rudi.
In an exclusive shoot and interview with OK! Magazine around the time the twins were born, Lucy beamed as she introduced her beautiful baby girls, Missy Mabel and Betsey Maggie, who she welcomed on 13 April, 2017.
She said: "It was a planned Caesarean as the girls were both breech. I got to 37 weeks – which is when they usually want to take out twins.
"I wanted to watch the whole thing but they put a screen up when you’re having a C-section and it couldn’t be lowered quite enough for me to see.
"In some hospitals there are mirrors on the ceiling so you can see what’s going on, but that wasn’t the case in mine.
"I was gutted I didn’t get to watch them being born. You feel everything with a natural birth and I couldn’t with a C-section, so I would’ve liked to watch it."
And Lucy’s ex Rudi said of the birth: "There was a moment when they weren’t breathing.
"They got handed over to the medical team straight away after they were born and they were manipulated to make sure their airways were clear.
"The process was probably only about 30 seconds to a minute but it felt like ten minutes! Thankfully everything was fine."
Lucy conceived Missy and Betsy through a second round of IVF, and Lucy revealed that she and Rudi plan to be honest with their daughters about how they were conceived.
Lucy said: "Lola’s fully aware of it all so we want to be honest with the girls and let them know how special they are and how much they were wanted and how easily it could have been that they weren’t here.
"Having IVF was hard but we feel so lucky the girls have come along. I think it’s important to be honest about everything to do with how they got here."
Inside Lucy’s home
Lucy lives in a stunning home with her girls, which features a grand tarmac entrance surrounded by big green bushes.
In the living room there’s a cosy fire place and the bedroom features a gorgeous tropical cabinet, outlined in bright pink and decorated with koalas, flamingoes and giraffes.
However, the biggest statement in the home simply has to be the carousel horse which sits magnificently under the stairs.
The star has also added a an Aldi cardboard ice cream truck to her home for her kids to play with, and they have decorated it very vibrantly.
