The Duchess of York shone as she joined a host of celebrities at a charity fundraiser this evening.

Fergie, 59, wore a stunning black and gold embroidered gown and wore her auburn hair loose for the event.

She previously wore the figure-hugging black gown with sheer detailing during a visit to Germany earlier this year.

Sarah Ferguson wore a stunning floor length black gown for the occasion boasting a structured bodice and sweetheart neckline

The mother of two is a regular at the annual Butterfly Ball Charity fundraiser, which is in aid of Caudwell Children charity

Fergie’s floor-length dress boasted a structured bodice with a sweetheart neckline and a satin skirt with a train.

The top nipped in her waist and featured embroidered gold thread detailing.

The mother-of-two kept her accessories simple, opting for a small pair of hoop earrings and a delicate gold medallion.

She kept her makeup simple with a dash of highlighter across her cheeks, and a soft smokey eye and pale lip.

Fergie posed on the purple carpet alongside glittering butterfly models before entering the ball at Grosvenor House this evening

Stars from all walks of the showbiz world were out in full force for the glittering Butterfly Ball awards; Amy Childs, whose roots were in The Only Way Is Essex, joined the likes of comedian Katherine Ryan and Christine McGuinness for the glitzy bash.

The annual Butterfly Ball is one of the most-talked about charity events of the year; the party raises funds for Caudwell Children which provides practical and emotional support for disabled children.

The royal – who rarely makes red carpet appearances –  has regularly attended the Butterfly Ball over the years, and even graced the occasion with daughter Princess Beatrice in 2010.

Fergie’s appearance comes just days after she shared a ‘family picture’ alongside Prince Andrew and their two daughters, Princess Eugenie and Beatrice.

The royal beamed as they arrived at the event wearing a stunning black gown with sheer sleeves

Fans continue to hope it meant that ‘marriage’ was back on the cards for the couple.

Sarah Ferguson, who divorced Prince Andrew in 1996 after 10 years of marriage, is still believed to be close to the royal.

The pair have remained extremely close, sharing Andrew’s official residence, Royal Lodge at Windsor, and buying a luxury ski chalet in Verbier.

But Fergie has denied there is anything more to their relationship than being friends.
