A woman working as a dominatrix has revealed she makes up to $8,000 (£6,500) a day by "degrading and humiliating men" as she opens up about the "most ridiculous" thing she's ever been paid to do.
Self-dubbed "Latex Barbie" Lane Kwederis, 38, has a second career as a comedian but her regular day job is being a dominatrix — a woman who provides men with sexual gratification by physically or psychologically dominating them. The sex worker, who lives in New York City, works particularly in the field of financial domination.
Explaining what it means in a recent chat with fellow comedian Eleanor Conway, she said: "Basically people's kink is giving me money for the pleasure of giving me money, it goes hand in hand with that classic dominatrix stuff too." Lane admitted before becoming one herself, she thought being a dominatrix meant she needed to have an "unrelenting urge to be mean and hurt men."

But she soon discovered she was wrong, explaining: "It's just like saying 'Yes, and' to the sub and I'm an improviser so it's basically just doing improv but with horny men." When asked what the strangest things she's ever been paid for by a sub, she revealed: "I walked a man on a leash down 7th Avenue in New York City which is like a major road in the middle of the day while he wore hot pink from head to toe for money."
But while men love it when she degrades them, Lane insists there's no sex involved and claimed that's part of the appeal to men. "If anything they like that I'm unattainable, that's part of it. There's a lot of humiliation involved as well so they might want me to degrade them or humiliate them because to them it's about a power exchange," she explained.
And her subs (submissives) are willing to fork out a hefty amount for the humiliation. During one of her stand-up gigs, Lane, who details her experiences in her comedy show Sex Job, was asked what the most she's made in one day from her dominatrix work.
She responded: "I think it was around $7,500 to $8,000." But it's not just cash she's paid in, with Lane revealing her subs will also give her gift cards in exchange for her domination services.
She claims the raunchy career has taught her a lot about men. Explaining why she thinks so many of them love being dominated by her, she said: "A lot of men want to be able to let go and I think we all do, I think it's very human, and I think a lot of men are not allowed to in our society so I think this allows that for them."
But she claimed some men's inability to "let go" can lead to them playing "mind games", which she admitted is one of the most difficult aspects of the job to navigate. She added: "I've learnt there's a lot of men that have so much trouble letting go that they'll come to me, a dominatrix, to let go and then they'll try to force me, a dominatrix, to do things I don't want to and then try to tell themselves I'm controlling them."
