Moments you missed from 2023 Brit Awards including awkward gaffes and a nostalgic reunion

The 2023 Brit Awards kicked off on Saturday evening at London's O2 Arena, where fans and artists alie gathered to celebrate the best talent in British music.

The 43rd Brits ceremony, hosted by comedian Mo Gilligan, saw epic performances from artists including Harry Styles, Lewis Capaldi, Stormzy and Lizzo.

The awards show also saw its fair share of awkward gaffes, swearing before the watershed and a nostalgic red carpet reunion.

In case you missed it, we're recapping the most memorable moments from the evening…

Awkward gaffes

Mo Gilligan had viewers in stitches when he called Lewis Capaldi by the wrong name before the singer took to the stage.

Comedian Mo, 34, mistakenly introduced 'Sam Capaldi' at the annual awards bash on Saturday night, leaving the audience and viewers at home confused.

Mo, who hosted the awards for a second year in a row, announced: "Lets have another performance, it's a singer-songwriter who is the spirit of the Brit Awards in human form. Here with his amazing number one single, Forget Me.

"It's the brilliant – go crazy! It's Sam Capaldi."

Following Lewis' incredible performance, Mo addressed his earlier name mistake, and jokingly told the crowd: "I have to apologise, I did call him Sam – it just goes to show how strong the drinks are at the Brits. They’re not playing around!"

S Club reunion

Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett and Jo O'Meara delighted S Club fans as they reunited on the red carpet.

Rachel, 44, wowed in a floor-length red gown with an exaggerated shoulder, while Jo, 43, opted for a statement black dress complete with dramatic cape sleeves. Tina, 46, also chose a black gown for the event, with the singer stunning in a glittery ensemble with a slash across the shoulder.

The trio's red carpet reunion comes days after S Club 7 hinted they could be set to reform in a new message shared on Twitter.

The band, which also consisted of Bradley McIntosh, Hannah Spearritt, Jon Lee and Paul Cattermole, split in 2003 and are rumoured to be reuniting for a huge tour to mark 25 years since their debut single was released.
