MSCHF, which was founded in 2016, has gained a reputation for creating both digital and physical designs that mock and warp everyday concepts.
The brand’s wacky creations in the past have included a cologne that smells like WD-40, ‘Eat The Rich Popsicles’ in the shape of iconic plurocrats, and ‘Jesus Shoes’ with holy water sourced from the River Jordan inside the sole.
Its latest meme-worthy creation, the Big Red Boot, is made from TPUrubber shell and EVA foam.
MSCHF itself has branded the shoes as ‘cartoon boots for a cool 3D world’ and the press release notes: ‘If you kick someone in these boots they go BOING!’
It continued: ‘You never design shoes to be shaped like feet. Big Red Boots are REALLY not shaped like feet, but they are EXTREMELY shaped like boots.’
The Big Red Boot has caused quite a stir online with social media being sent into a frenzy – and opinions are very divided.
